Urtiga comes from the Vinha da Urtiga estate, a vineyard adjacent to Quinta do Bom Retiro and set in pre-phylloxera terraces built over two centuries ago, where 73 varieties of indigenous grape varieties have been identified and whose vines have an average age of over 100 years. Practising organic and biodynamic production, this 3.5 hectare vineyard gives the wine its rustic and genuine characteristics.
